How to Upscale Clipart to 300 DPI for Print & POD
AI clipart often comes out too small for print. On screen it looks fine, but on a mug, a t-shirt, or a wall-art print it turns soft and pixelated. Print and print-on-demand need high resolution, and the standard is 300 DPI at the real finished size.
At 300 DPI, a 12-inch print needs 3600 pixels on the long side. Most raw AI clipart is well below that, which is where upscaling comes in.
How to do it
- Upload your clipart.
- Pick a size target: Clipart (3600px) for standard use, Wall art & POD (4500px) for larger prints, or Maximum (6000px).
- Let it upscale. It reconstructs real detail rather than just stretching the pixels, so edges stay crisp.
- Download at full print resolution.
Tips
- Start from the best source you can. Ask your AI tool for its largest or HD output, aiming for at least around 1000px on the long side.
- Under about 1000px, artwork can still look soft even after upscaling, so bigger input is always better.
